Listed below are the symptoms of diabetes:

• Increased trips to the bathroom
When there is an excess of glucose in the blood, the tendency to urinate increases. This can be attributed to poor levels of insulin. In this condition, the kidneys fail to filter glucose to the blood. This increases the frequency of urination.
• Increase in thirst
Increase in thirst could signal the onset of diabetes. It usually occurs with frequent urination. This happens when the body pulls more water out of the blood. This results in urination, which in turn results in thirst. Thus, a vicious circle is created.
• Weight Loss
This is more prevalent in Type 1 diabetes, where the pancreas stops producing insulin. This can happen due to viral attack or autoimmune response that reduces insulin-producing cells. When the cells lack glucose, the body looks for alternative sources. The body uses the muscle tissue and fat reserves for energy. This leads to weight loss.
• TirednessGlucose is synthesized into the blood, where insulin is supposed to break it down further. The cells derive energy from this. When insulin levels are low, glucose is not synthesized. This leads to lack of energy, which causes tiredness and fatigue.
• Tingling Sensation in the Hands and Feet
This symptom is also referred to as neuropathy. High levels of glucose in the blood damage the nerves. This can happen without our knowledge.
